Anyone can register to enter One Spark 2013. Entrants will be known as Creators (“Creator”). A Creator is someone bringing his or her creation or project to showcase at a One Spark 2013 designated Venue.

Summary of Creator Rules*

Eligibility

  • Creators must be at least 18 years of age on the day that they register. If under age 18, Creators need parental or guardian consent and accompaniment to participate in One Spark 2013.
  • Creators must pay a $45 non-refundable fee to complete their One Spark 2013 entry (waived for students with a valid .edu address).
  • In the case of collaborative entries, everyone who makes a significant contribution to the entry must be registered and officially designated to that entry.
  • Employees of One Spark, Inc. (“One Spark”) or immediate family of One Spark employees are not eligible to participate in One Spark 2013.
  • Creators must agree to One Spark rules; Creators agree by submitting a completed application. Rules may change; updated rules may be found on the One Spark website at http://beonespark/creator-rules

Entry and Entry Fees

  • One-time nonrefundable entry fee of $45 (waived for students with a valid .edu address) and completed application (on beonspark.com) must be received on February 22, 2013 by 11:59 PM EST.
  • There may be only one entry per Creator or Co-Creator.
  • Entry must be original work and the Creator is responsible to ensure that the entry does not infringe on any third-party proprietary rights or intellectual property rights.
  • Entry must be currently owned by the Creator or a collaborative group of Creators that is registered for One Spark 2013.
  • Creator entry must be set up in Creator Zone Venue on April 17, 2013 by 2:30 PM.
  • Entry must be exhibited during One Spark 2013 and be in line with One Spark Rules.
  • Creators are expected to attend and participate in One Spark 2013.
  • All Creators must submit at least two digital images of their entry upon registration. If the entry is time-based, moves, performs a function, or includes motion or narration, then a video presentation (or explanation) of the entry must be submitted at the time of registration.
  • If an entry is time-based or performance-oriented, the entry must:
    • Be performed within the five days (April 17, 2013 through April 21, 2013).
    • Be documented by video, a copy of which becomes the property of One Spark who will receive a perpetual, non-exclusive license for use in marketing and other promotional materials.
    • Be represented throughout the entirety of the event for voting and investment purposes, either by artifact or other representation agreed to by One Spark.
  • All entries must abide by any and all applicable codes/ordinances/etc.
  • Creators are responsible for fees associated with installation, transport, and display, etc., as well as fees associated with hosting Venue requirements.
  • One Spark reserves the right to use all information, images, documentation, etc. of the Creator pertaining to the entry.
  • One Spark bears no liability to the Creator or Venue relating to the entry.
  • One Spark can disqualify any entry if deemed inappropriate.
  • Creators and Venues will complete a Venue-Creator Hosting Agreement for each entry.
  • Creators may not sell their entries or other items in the Creator Zone during One Spark 2013. Creators may distribute promotional materials such as business cards, flyers, and swag.

Crowdfund & Voting

  • One Spark crowdfund monies will be distributed by public vote as described on the One Spark website.
  • Crowdfund voting opens on April 17, 2013 at 3:00 PM and closes on April 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM EST.
  • Voters must validate their voting registration in person at One Spark 2013.
  • Each registered voter may cast one vote per entry, voting for as many entries as he or she likes via smartphone app, web, kiosk, or text message.
  • Creators are eligible to vote.
  • One Spark will announce winners on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the closing event which will start at 11:00 AM EST.
  • After verifying Creator projects, One Spark will disburse funds approximately 30 days after the event ends.
  • All monies provided by One Spark will be distributed by One Spark Inc., a nonprofit corporation.
  • Monies received by Creators may be considered taxable income.

Immediate Individual Contributions

  • Immediate individual contributions will be pledged as described on the One Spark website.
  • Immediate individual contributions open on April 17, 2013 at 3:00 PM and close April 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM EST.
  • Each registered voter may make immediate individual contributions of any amount to any entry via smartphone app, web, or kiosk.
  • Monies received by Creators may be considered taxable income.

Capital Investments By STACHE Investments Corp.

  • Investments by STACHE Investment Corp. will take place outside of the One Spark voting and contribution platform.
  • Monies received by Creators may be considered taxable income.
