Rain Girl, Inc.

Ladies rain wear to keep you dry while doing activities outside. The rain skirt wraps around your skirt and has 3 pockets!

Funding Goal

Seeking

$50,000

The funding will be used to reach my target audience of lady golfers as well as other ladies who do outdoor activities. I would like offer several colors for my skirts and 1/2 sleeve jackets so that I can appeal to many different sporting teams whether they are a spectator or participant.

About Project

My name is Kathy Nyman and I started Rain Girl, Inc. because I wanted a skirt to go over my golf skirt when playing golf. I want to showcase my Rain Skirt at One Spark to get some feedback as well as find out who else could use my skirt besides lady golfers. I want to raise $50,000 so that I can add more colors to my line and even add a 1/2 sleeve rain jacket to my line.

Project Showcase Proposal

I plan to have skirts available for ladies to try on at One Spark. I will have a mirror so ladies can see how it fits them. I will have sizes ranging from XS - XL. I can be indoors or outdoors with my project. I also have a 1/2 sleeve jacket in the works and I will have drawings available for attendees to see. I will give out brochures at One Spark so that attendees can go to my website if they would like to buy a rain skirt.

Project Questions

What city is your project based out of?

Jacksonville, FL

What sets your Project apart from what is currently available?

I found a lot of rain skirts in Europe and Japan, but not in the United States. Currently most rain gear for golf is rain pants, jackets and some half sleeve jackets. I want to start a business catering to ladies! There are plenty of colors and styles for men, but not for ladies.

Why are you and your team the best people on the planet to handle this project?

I have been playing golf for over 25 years and have been an LPGA Teaching Professional since 1997. I have played golf in every type of weather because of playing in tournaments. As an assistant golf professional I have seen many ladies tournaments that end up finishing in the rain when most ladies do not have the rain gear they need to get to the clubhouse dry. I designed my skirt with the lady golfer in mind with two side pockets and a big back pocket. The skirt wraps right over the skirt or shorts that they are wearing.
