We are a group of teenagers that followed one girl's dream all the way to Kenya
to meet and to inspire a young orphan she sponsored. She wanted to bring the joy of theatre to children who might never get the opportunity to experience it. She asked a few of her friends to help her take a theatre camp to that orphanage in Africa.
Our first trip was an amazing success. The team conducted a week-long theatre camp and incorporated the children at the Foundation Stone Ministry Orphanage into a play that helped raise enough money from the surrounding Bondo community to get running water to the orphanage. The group traveled to two additional village schools, teaching those students theatre games and more. Over those two days at the schools, the sessions included over 1200 students!
In July of 2014 another team of students will be making a second journey to Africa to bring more theatre to the children living in the Foundation Stone Ministry Orphanage. This time we hope to again raise money within the Bondo community to help fund a school at the orphanage.

What city is your project based out of?
What sets your Project apart from what is currently available?
This group was founded, planned, organized, and run by teenagers. In addition, it brings the performing arts to third world countries, while developing leadership, service, and community by uniting the individual students into a diverse team working together for one goal.
Oh and did we mention that while we were there we raised enough money in Bondo at our performance for the orphanage to have running water for the first time. That's pretty awesome!
Why are you and your team the best people on the planet to handle this project?
We have so much passion and drive to go back and finish what we started. When we first got to the orphanage the children were so stoic and serious. We were the first team that had ever come to the orphanage to focus solely on the children. The TOM team brought games, books, and a week long theatre camp to the orphanage. The children were so impacted that they have written numerous letters asking the team to come back. In one of the letters a girl named Selene said, "I practice being the lion everyday and wait for you to return so you can see how good I have become."
