Outreach Team
Networking ace? Social media titan? Help get the word out about the hottest thing in the innovation game. Create and push regular messaging updates via One Spark web and social media, and represent One Spark as we interact and network with various organizations. Volunteers from any area code are welcome to join this team.

Communications Coalition & Promo Posse
We’re looking for social media influencers to promote One Spark in- and out-of-town via social media and individual networks. Lend your social media skills and following to spread the One Spark word. Coalition members will receive a weekly email with One Spark updates and suggested social media content to promote via network(s). Promo Posse members will receive promotional materials to use at events, meetings, and more.
Duties:
- Promote One Spark through your individual network(s)
- Push out social media content provided by One Spark
Requirements:
- Basic social media skills
- Regular access to computer and Internet
- Dependability and consistency between your network(s) and the One Spark brand
Media Moguls
Photographers, designers, videographers, and other media evangelists, this is the perfect opp for you. We’re in need of media moguls to promote and document One Spark. Sign up for day or evening shifts, generally four or more hours long. We’ve also got shorter shifts for smaller events leading up to the festival. Just let us know your preference.
Duties:
- Document the festival using photography and videography
- Interview attendees and Creators to capture their One Spark experience
- Assist in the creation of social media and web content
Requirements:
- Graphic design experience a plus
- Photographers and videographers need to be able to stand for four-hour shifts
- Radio or TV experience a plus
- Video editing experience a plus
- Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)
- Signed general release & felony background check to keep the lawyers happy
STREET TEAM
Working in the trenches, our Street Team helps craft the One Spark experience for innovation enthusiasts worldwide. Most shifts are four hours long and require a local address. Get down and dirty with One Spark as you direct volunteers, manage registration, set up and break down the event, and more.
JAX Ambassadors
JAX Ambassadors are hometown personalities, ready to show out-of-town Creators a good time. As points-of-contact, Ambassadors are responsible for alerting One Spark staff to any problems their assigned Creator may be experiencing. Ambassadors are more than just Creator handlers. They’re friendly, knowledgeable tour guides who like to invite Creators along to a favorite restaurant or happy hour with friends. The expected time commitment is 5+ hours the week of the festival, plus on-call availability for any inquiries from your assigned Creator.
Duties:
- Alert One Spark staff to any One Spark-related problems your assigned Creators may be experiencing
- Help your assigned Creators find their way around
- Make sure Creators have a fantastic time in Jacksonville
Requirements:
- Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)
- Be on-call while your Creators are in town, answering and responding promptly to all calls and emails from assigned Creators
- Passionate and knowledgeable about Jacksonville
- Personal mobile phone
- Care about acting as a great host for Creators at One Spark
- Signed general release & felony background check to keep the lawyers happy
Pre-Game Crew
There are one-truck tailgates, and then there’s One Spark, twenty-six square blocks of over the top. Flex your muscles and help us set up and break down the event. Choose from day and evening shifts. Minimum shift is four hours.
Duties:
- Assist in setup and breakdown of Bump Zones, Lounges, and Venues
- Assist in setup and breakdown of customer service kiosks and registration desks
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 20 pounds or more
- Ability to stand for four-hour shifts
- Must be able to work a four-hour shift at least one of these days: April 16th, 17th, or 21st
- Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)
- Signed general release & felony background check to keep the lawyers happy
One Spark Guides
One Spark Guides are sure-footed sparksters who can answer attendees’ questions and help them find their way around downtown. Guides alert One Spark staff or authorities to any problems that might arise in their assigned areas. Choose from day and evening shifts. Minimum shift is four hours.
Duties:
- Help One Spark attendees find their way around
- Alert One Spark staff or other proper authorities to any problems in assigned area
- Keep assigned area clean
Requirements:
- Ability to stand for four-hour shifts
- Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)
- Strong customer service skills and all-around happy personality
- Signed general release & felony background check to keep the lawyers happy
Stage Crew
The Creator Zone boasts multiple Community First Pitch Deck(s) and public stages. Help Creators get their ideas and projects out there. Choose from day and evening shifts. Minimum shift is four hours.
Duties:
- Assist in setup and breakdown of stages
- Help Creators get set up
- Troubleshoot problems that arise
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 20 pounds or more
- Ability to stand for four-hour shifts
- Stagehand experience a plus
- Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)
- Signed general release & felony background check to keep the lawyers happy
Tech Crew
We need techy types and troubleshooters to support One Spark Lounges, Community First Pitch Deck(s), stages, kiosks, and other locations/equipment during daytime and evening hours. Minimum shift is four hours.
Duties:
- Assist in setup of wireless hotspots and computer-based presentations on Community First Pitch Deck(s)
- Troubleshoot tech problems that arise

- Ability to stand for four-hour shifts
- Tech background or knowledge
- Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)
- Signed general release & felony background check to keep the lawyers happy
CSARS (Customer Service And Registration Squad)
CSARS work on the front lines of One Spark to ensure Creators and attendees have a good time. These good vibe coordinators man Creator check-in on Tuesday, April 16th and Wednesday, April 17th, plus take care of service kiosks and tables throughout the festival. CSARS answer questions and help attendees find their way. Choose from day and evening shifts. Minimum shift is four hours.
Duties:
- Answer attendees’ questions about One Spark and the voting process
- Help One Spark attendees find their way around
- Register Creators on April 16th and 17th
- Staff customer service kiosks/tables located throughout the festival
